Final day
So I left Bocas, over a week ago now actually! Was hard, not aided by Elsa the dog, she´s used to students moving on and usually knows as soon as she sees the big back-packs - but she followed me all the way to the boat and then looked heart broken when she wasnt allowed to get in with me, I felt like such a deserter! I cried most of the way to Alimirante, but its ok os the locals all knew I was crazy anyway from me walking around town talking to a dog all day so...
Then we went to Boquete, a town in the mountains surrounded by farms and plantations and flowers of nall types, really beautiful. Me and Henriette (from Holland) and Janos (from Germany) tried to find the highly aclaimed hot srpings...but that turned into abit of an adventure as we intrepidly trecked straight past the entrance (no-one told us it was so, erm, ´wild´and lets just say we werent dressed or prepared for the hike!), and continued up this jungley, beyond muddy, mosquito ridden mountain. We would have kept going if we hadnt (me and Henriette - because Janos was being all macho and hiking at stupid speed) have been overtaken by a local cowboy on his faithful steed who told us that we were miles away and must turn back because it was dangerous...we did so, by this time bare footed and plasetered in mud and sweat....and made our way back to the waiting, and slightly worried, taxi to wait for Janos. We must have looked so stupid!
From Boquete I said goodbye to the others and travelled to Panama city, where I met Stefan (a Swiss guy from the school) and we flew to San Blas! Was amazing...wont go into details because this post is alreday too long - no electricity or running water or much atall that I´m used to really, it was so beautiful.
Now - last day in Panama city. I´m slightly sad to be leaving it has to be said...its probably good that I committed to the house with Sarah and Karen because otherwise I might´ve been even more tempted to stay longer. I´ve got a long plane journey to contemplate my return anyway so thats good...and I´ll be back anyway. Must go...we´re getting VIP tickets (reclining leather arm chairs and lots of other perks) at te cinema for my last night..a mere $6 which is about 3.50 quid..bargain!
xXx
